Chick-fil-A will return to this Pacific Northwest city for the first time in 20 years.

When did the company announce new locations in Oregon?

The Georgia-based fast-food chain has been expanding its Oregon footprint since earlier this year, after announcing in October that six new locally owned and operated restaurants would open across the state by early 2027, according to OregonLive and a news release.

While some Oregon residents may have to wait over a year for these new locations, the Portland restaurant is slated to open sooner.

A Chick-fil-A will open “in early 2026, pending any delays,” the company confirmed in an email last week obtained by OregonLive.

Details about the new Chick-fil-A location in Portland

The restaurant will be located at a former strip club, the Venue Gentleman’s Club at 9950 S.E. Stark St. According to reports, the plan has been in the works with permit filings in 2023, and the company officially purchased the building for $32 million in 2024, OregonLive and KGW8 reported.

While the chain has been opening new locations internationally, there hasn’t been a Chick-fil-A in Portland since 2003, when the Lloyd Center location closed, per KGW8.

“Oregon is a place where natural beauty, a pioneering spirit and a strong sense of community come together in a truly special way,” Scott Stover, Area Director for the West Region, said in a news release statement.

“Our local Owner-Operators have enjoyed the privilege of serving Oregonians for nearly a decade, creating remarkable experiences for our Guests through delicious food, signature hospitality, and welcoming environments. As we open more restaurants across the state, including our first restaurant in the city of Portland, we look forward to supporting Guests, Team Members and vibrant communities across the state.”
